How it works

Three steps. Ten seconds.

You are already there. Your report is what turns one person's warning into a whole street that knows.

See

A bag snatched, a fight, smoke from a car, someone forcing a door. Stay at a safe distance. Your safety comes first.

Report in 10 seconds

Open LEON, tap the red shield, pick what you saw and drop the pin. Add a photo if you can. That's it.

Everyone nearby is warned

Your report appears on the map at once. When a second witness confirms it, people within 3 km get a push, and LEON agents are ready to help.

What to report

If it could put someone at risk, it belongs on the map.

From a pickpocket on the Promenade to a car on fire in a car park, every report helps someone choose another street, keep their bag closer or head home a different way. Each report stays on the map for 7 days, then leaves it.

Your name never appears. Homes and victims are never pinned exactly: for burglaries and sexual violence the point is moved to within about 300 m. Photos are checked by our team, and their location data is removed, before anyone else sees them.

Why one report matters

Ten seconds of your time, a safer walk home for others.

Pickpocketing · Nice
"Two men working the tram stop on Avenue Jean-Médecin. I reported it from the platform. The next person to open the map knew to keep their phone in their pocket."
1A commuter's report: confirmed by a second witness
Car fire · Cannes
"Smoke coming out of a car in an underground car park. I called the fire brigade first, then put it on LEON so nobody walked down there to get their car."
2Emergency services first, LEON second
Fight · Marseille
"A fight spilling out of a bar near the Vieux-Port, late at night. A pin and a category, from across the street. People nearby were warned when a second witness confirmed it."
3Reported from a safe distance

Typical situations reported in the app. Never put yourself at risk to take a photo.

FAQ

Questions, answered.

Does reporting on LEON replace calling the police?

No. If someone is in danger, call 17 (police) or 112 first. LEON warns the people around you; it does not dispatch the police. Once you are safe, a report on LEON helps everyone else nearby.

Will people see who reported?

No. The map shows what happened, where and when, never who reported it. For burglaries and sexual violence the point is moved to within about 300 m so that no home or victim can be identified.

Who gets warned, and when?

Your report appears on the map straight away, marked as unverified. When a second person taps "I see it too", or our team confirms it, LEON users within 3 km get a push notification, as long as the incident is less than two hours old. Nobody receives more than three of these alerts a day.

What happens to my photos?

The original stays private. A copy with its location and camera data removed is published only after our team has checked it.

What if a report is false?

Anyone can flag a report. After three flags it is hidden automatically until our team reviews it.

Where does it work, and is it free?

Reporting is free and works wherever you are. The live map also brings in local news and official crime figures for Nice, Cannes, Antibes, Monaco, Marseille, Toulon, Saint-Tropez and Paris, with more cities coming.

Where do the crime levels on the map come from?

From official French Ministry of the Interior statistics, published every year for each commune and compared with the national rate. They show the long-term picture; reports from LEON users show what is happening today.
